A useful fit for

A very compact single-burner option for a walker who will use a verified compatible gas canister, choose a suitably small separate pot and obtain the exact manual for the unit.

The main tradeoff

P321492's US listing lacks an exact manual bridge, maximum cookware diameter, minimum-weight basis and documented separate-screen permission; the 58 g entry is not whole-kit weight.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Is Micron III P321492 ready to cook with its own pot and fuel?

No. Primus lists the burner and nylon pouch; gas and cookware are separate. Its 1–2 person language is not a serving count, and the single burner provides one simultaneous cooking position.

Does the wind-resistant flame mean a manual-approved windscreen can be added?

No such permission was found for exact US P321492. The captured US manual index lists a Micron Trail Stove document, not a Micron III P321492 manual, and no Trail instructions are transferred. Keep this setup out of a hard approved-screen match until exact instructions are obtained.

Does the 58 g listing establish a minimum weight or pot diameter?

No. The exact US page lists 58 g without calling it a minimum, and gives no maximum cookware diameter. The 62 by 46 mm folded size is a packed stove dimension, not pot clearance.

Scope: This source-based assessment covers US Primus Micron III Stove P321492 / UPC 7330033000030. I did not use or weigh it; its listed 58 g and boil claims are manufacturer statements, not tests. This is not the separately named Micron III Piezo variant.

A tiny burner, with cookware supplied separately

Primus describes P321492 as a foldable, top-mounted stove with pot supports, a large foldable valve handle and a narrow high-speed flame. The US listing says the body weighs 58 g and folds to 62 by 46 mm; it includes a nylon storage pouch, while cookware and gas are separate. That layout is built around packing a small burner into a compact kit, not around a ready-made pot-and-burner system. Add the actual pot, cartridge, food, ignition backup and any support accessories when planning the carried setup.

The product page recommends pairing Micron III with smaller pots, but it states no maximum cookware diameter or loaded-pot limit. The page's 126 mm diameter listing is a stove dimension, not a safe pot measurement. Neither the image nor the small folded size establishes how wide a cookware base can be, how much load its supports tolerate, or whether a particular pan remains stable on uneven ground. If you already own a pot, compare its base and handles with the unfolded supports and obtain the exact manual's limits before relying on it.

Gas is separate, and the regional fuel detail needs care

The exact US P321492 page says to attach the stove to a gas canister, states that gas is not included, and says this model has no regulator. Primus's English global page for the same P321492 article names Power Gas, Summer Gas and Winter Gas. That is useful product-family evidence, but the captured US page does not identify a connector standard, precise fuel blend or North American cartridge certification. Do not convert “screws onto a canister” into a claim that every EN 417 cartridge or brand blend is acceptable. Confirm the actual unit's instruction sheet, cartridge label and market-specific compatibility before purchase or operation.

The lack of a regulator is an important distinction from stoves whose manuals describe pressure regulation. It means this assessment does not claim that Micron III maintains output as a cartridge cools or empties, and no minimum operating temperature is established. Primus's 1–2 person description is a maker's intended-use range, not a measured serving count. A single burner can heat one vessel at a time; group size does not create an extra cooking position.

Wind language cannot replace a windscreen instruction

Primus describes the flame as wind-resistant, but the US manuals index captured for this review lists a “Micron Trail Stove” document, not an explicit P321492 / Micron III manual. I did not treat that older-sounding document as a manual crosswalk. As a result, this assessment cannot say that a separate windscreen is approved, that a particular clearance applies, or that one is prohibited by the exact P321492 instructions. A wind-resistant flame claim is not permission to surround a canister with foil, rocks or a shield. Obtain the exact current manual and follow the unit label; do not operate from a product-page summary alone.

No exact-model leak-check, clearance, cold-use or maintenance procedure is inferred. Obtain and follow the actual P321492 instructions for setup and inspection; this assessment is not a substitute.

58 g is a listed mass, not a complete carry weight

The US page and Primus's exact-SKU global page both list 58 g, so the listing is better corroborated than a one-page number; neither calls it a manufacturer minimum weight or complete carried mass. The cartridge, pot and food are separate. The bare stove value is therefore not used to pass a numerical minimum-weight cap in the finder. There is also no maximum cookware diameter to compare against a hard pan-size request.

Primus rates the stove at 2600 W, gives a 2:30 claim with a 0.5 L PrimeTech pot and 3:30 with a regular pot in its US table, and says one litre can boil in under four minutes. These are manufacturer figures with distinct cookware and water contexts, not independent tests. They do not establish real-world time in cold weather, wind, at altitude, with a different pot or near an empty cartridge. The oversized valve is described as fine-tuning flame output; this review does not claim an independently verified simmer range.

Where it sits beside the Express P321485

The Express Backpacking Stove with Piezo P321485 is another one-burner top-mounted Primus layout, but Primus explicitly lists a piezo igniter with that P321485 offer. Its linked family sheet prohibits covering stove or cartridge and names Primus cartridge codes, while Micron III's exact US manual was not located. P321492 is listed at 58 g versus 83 g on the US Express page, but P321485's official regional page says 103 g; neither is a verified minimum-weight ranking. The shared category and brand do not make their manuals, fuel instructions or limits interchangeable.

Micron III suits someone who wants a compact single burner, has a verified compatible cartridge and small pot, and can obtain the exact instructions. It is a poor fit for two-pan cooking, a hard pan-size or minimum-weight cap, documented separate-screen use, or named MSR 80/20 / JetPower fuel. Before buying, verify P321492 / UPC 7330033000030 rather than the Piezo variant, obtain the exact market manual, confirm fuel compatibility, and check cookware limits. Price, availability and package details are not promised.
