A useful fit for

A car-camp or picnic cook seeking a folding four-support single burner with an integrated ignition button, adjustable control and a cassette-canister format, and who can work within the manual's no-windscreen warning.

The main tradeoff

The stove carries its canister under the burner rather than separating it by hose, and its manual forbids an added windscreen or high-reflective-heat cookware. No cookware diameter limit is published, the weight sources disagree by 20 g, and the exact cartridge blend is not pinned down by the English manual.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can the ST-310 use a threaded EN 417 MSR or Jetboil canister?

The current US page names a CB butane cartridge and the exact ST-310 manual describes LPG/Butane; neither establishes the requested threaded EN 417 connection or an 80/20 or JetPower blend. Do not use an adapter or infer the fitting from a generic compatibility sentence; check the exact cartridge and manual.

Is a windscreen or large reflective griddle acceptable with the ST-310?

No. Its exact English manual explicitly prohibits covering the stove with a windscreen or rocks and warns against cookware or attachments that reflect substantial heat toward the canister. The built-in reflective sheet is a supplied stove component; it does not permit an added shield.

Is the ST-310's weight 330 g or 350 g, and what pot size fits?

SOTO's current US page and 2025 catalogue list 330 g, while the linked English manual lists 350 g; neither is a packaged or fueled kit mass. The exact reviewed page and manual do not publish a maximum cookware diameter, so use the manual and test your specific pot's geometry and stability without exceeding other safety restrictions.

The SOTO Regulator Stove ST-310 is a folding single-burner appliance built around a cassette-style butane cartridge. The current US listing identifies model ST-310 and SKU 4953571002453, and names a Stealth piezo igniter, four locking supports, an adjustable flame knob and a storage pouch. It is not the same setup as the WindMaster, Amicus or Fusion Trek: its fuel canister is directly supported at the stove rather than placed at the end of a remote hose, and the manual's windscreen prohibition is explicit.

What this version offers—and what its numbers mean

SOTO's current product page lists 2.9 kW, dimensions of 16.6 × 14.2 × 11 cm in use and 14.0 × 7.0 × 11.0 cm stowed, plus a manufacturer weight of 330 g. The 2025 catalogue also lists 330 g. The linked English ST-310 manual, however, prints 350 g. Both are manufacturer-published figures; this review retains the current page/catalogue number while making the discrepancy visible. Neither is an independently measured weight or a complete fueled system mass. The pouch is a separate package item and the canister is not included.

The model name's “Regulator” does not make it a liquid-fuel stove or a universal fitting. The page says CB butane cartridge; the English manual classifies fuel as LPG/Butane but does not state a precise mixture. The US page also contains general language about several butane/propane combinations. For a careful purchase, use the exact cartridge instructions supplied for the ST-310 and verify its label rather than inferring a threaded EN 417 connection or choosing a blend from generic copy. The reviewed evidence does not support an MSR 80/20 or Jetboil JetPower match.

The page and manual describe flame adjustment, and the manual gives instructions for lighting and turning the output knob. That supports a documented adjustable-output plan, not a measured low-flame test. No reviewed exact source publishes a maximum cookware diameter. The manual tells owners to use one stove per pot and prohibits cookware that generates substantial reflected heat. Burner spacing and overall product dimensions are not substitutes for a stated pan limit or a check of your loaded cookware's stability.

The manual rules out an added windscreen

An integral reflective sheet is shown in the ST-310 manual as part of the stove's canister-side assembly. That does not make a separate screen safe. The exact English manual says never to cover the stove with rocks or a windscreen while it is in use because the cartridge can overheat. It also prohibits setting multiple stoves side by side, using the stove near heat sources, or using reflective accessories such as a large steel plate or ceramic-coated mesh. Treat those as meaningful operating limits, not optional caveats.

The manual specifies outdoor-only use, a well-ventilated location, a flat solid surface, shade away from direct sunlight, and at least 4 ft / 1.2 m from flammables. It warns against tents, vehicles and enclosed rooms because the stove can produce carbon monoxide. It also says to ignite before placing the pot on the supports, not move the stove while lit, let the supports cool before handling, inspect for leaks, and remove the cartridge before stowing. These are model-specific precautions and should be checked against the physical manual with the exact stove.

How it compares with lighter SOTO layouts

The ST-310 is more of a folding picnic or campsite platform than a tiny burner-only backpacking choice. If low carried mass is the priority, compare the TriTrail, which has three titanium supports and a listed 135 g body mass; however, the exact US manual was not located in the SOTO index, so several operational boundaries are still unknown. The Amicus without igniter uses a different threaded-canister system and a much smaller cookware maximum, while the Fusion Trek moves the cartridge away from the burner with a hose and allows a separately purchased windscreen only under detailed instructions.

For the ST-310, the more important questions are whether you can obtain the exact cassette cartridge, whether your cooking surface is flat and solid, and whether your routine can avoid wind screens and reflective accessories. Verify SKU 4953571002453 and the exact product label. Confirm which fuel cartridges SOTO currently approves for the physical model, check the supplied pouch and manual, and do not assume the generic product-page mixture statement overrules the model instructions. The maker's heat output and weight are reference specifications, not proof of a specific boil time, food result or field performance.
