A useful fit for

A single-burner backcountry set for cooks who value two nesting pots, a draining lid and more bundled cookware capacity over multiple heat sources.

The main tradeoff

It remains one burner despite its 2.3 L system and two pots; the maker's 1060 g lacks a minimum-weight basis, the maximum pot diameter is unstated, and page/manual output claims differ.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Does the 2.3 L PrimeTech system let me cook on two burners at once?

No. P351033 is one remote-canister burner and the extra pot is for sequential cooking; the maker's 2–5-person statement is a serving estimate, not a simultaneous-burner count.

Does the larger set need a different fuel or extra windscreen?

The family manual names Primus cartridge families 2202xx, 2206xx and 2207xx; gas is not supplied. The integrated screen is part of the design, but the checked manual does not approve an extra separate shield, and it is not an MSR 80/20 or JetPower match.

Can the 202 mm product-table dimension be treated as maximum cookware width?

No. The page calls 202 mm a product diameter, not an approved maximum pot or pan size. It also lists 1060 g without naming the figure as minimum or full kit mass, so strict cookware and weight caps remain unknown.

The PrimeTech Stove System 2.3L (P351033) is the larger cookware version of a one-burner remote-canister system. The two nested pots, draining lid and integrated windscreen turn it into a coordinated camp kitchen, while the regulated burner is intended for both boiling and gentler cooking. It is not a two-burner range, and Primus’s “2–5 people” language is a product-use estimate rather than a serving test. This assessment is based on Primus’s exact US page and linked family manual; I did not cook with, weigh or time the product.

The exact larger set

The US product record identifies SKU P351033 and UPC 7330033905540. It includes a remote-canister burner with integrated windscreen, two nesting hard-anodized aluminum pots, one pot with a heat exchanger and ceramic nonstick surface, a transparent lid with integrated colander, a t-grip piezo igniter, removable Crimp Pot Gripper, insulated bag and folding heat reflector. Gas is not supplied. The 2.3 L package is distinct from the PrimeTech 1.3 L P351032; its parts and numbers should not be borrowed from that smaller configuration without checking each listing.

Primus says the 2.3 L arrangement is intended to feed two to five people. The cookware volume and audience label can make the kit attractive for shared meals, but a lone burner imposes a sequence: one pot heats while the other waits. A lid/colander and a second pot can simplify draining or staging, yet they do not create a second simultaneous heat source. The stove is a more plausible choice for a cook who values coordinated cookware than for someone whose priority is parallel cooking.

Capacity is not a maximum cookware specification

The integrated heat-exchanger pot and windscreen form a matched arrangement, and the page describes the burner as stable and efficient. There is still no product-page maximum cookware diameter for this exact model in the materials checked. The table’s 202 mm product diameter is not an approved maximum pan diameter; it is not safe to infer a limit from a drawing, pot support span or the 2.3 L capacity. If you plan to use a broad pan instead of the matched pots, confirm size and stability with Primus and the manual for the exact unit.

The page lists 1,060 g but does not identify that figure as the manufacturer’s minimum weight, an all-parts packed mass or a fueled carry weight. It excludes the separately purchased gas canister. For comparison, the same-page 1.3 L system lists 903 g, so the stated difference is 157 g; that subtraction compares two maker table figures, not our measured kit weights or their full trail loads. The additional one litre of named capacity may be worth that listed difference to some cooks, but not to someone who needs a verified minimum-mass cap.

What the manufacturer says about heat

The exact P351033 table reports 2,000 W and 3.5 minutes with the PrimeTech pot; the narrative describes a one-litre boil in under four minutes. Its linked manual, labeled for the PrimeTech Stove Set family, reports about 2.6 kW and 198 g per hour. The product page and manual therefore disagree on output, and the checked manual does not show the P351033 article code as an explicit crosswalk. These are source-reported claims, not an independent test. Primus describes a regulated valve and a slow-simmer range, which supports an adjustable-output classification, but no controlled low-flame cooking trial is claimed here.

The integrated heat exchanger and screen are intended to reduce fuel consumption. That manufacturer explanation does not establish a guaranteed saving across weather, fuel, pot loading or meal type. If your trip plan depends on exact consumption, use the model instructions and allow for conditions instead of calculating a fixed number of meals from the page table.

Fuel and safe operation

The linked family manual specifies Primus propane/isobutane/butane cartridges in families 2202xx, 2206xx and 2207xx; the kit does not include gas. The documentation reviewed does not classify this as the exact MSR 80/20 canister blend or Jetboil JetPower. Fuel-brand and blend compatibility should be checked from the cartridge itself rather than inferred from a connector that looks familiar.

The manual describes outdoor, well-ventilated use, level placement, leak and seal checks and at least 500 mm clearance from roof and walls. It illustrates the integrated windscreen but does not expressly approve an additional separate screen. A built-in screen is not a blanket permission to wrap the canister or burner in another shield. Follow the model manual supplied for the exact set, keep the assembly stable, and allow hot metal and cookware to cool before packing.

Who is it for?

P351033 is for a walker or group cook who wants a larger nested pot set, a dedicated heat-exchanger pot and the related pieces in one package, and who accepts sequential one-burner cooking. The 1.3 L PrimeTech sibling uses the same broad design at a smaller capacity; the Essential Stove Set 2.3 L is not automatically the same package merely because its capacity label is similar. Compare exact cookware, lid coatings, fuel instructions and manual editions.

Before purchase, check the P351033 code and included pieces, confirm a compatible Primus cartridge is obtainable for the trip, and read the exact manual for clearances and handling. If the important requirement is a proven minimum weight, maximum alternate-pot diameter, two simultaneous flames or measured simmer/boil performance, this record does not establish it. This is a source-based editorial assessment, not personal ownership, hands-on use, a field report or test result.
