Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can I use the same jet for every OmniFuel fuel?
No. Manual ID 3289 pairs 0.45 mm with Primus cartridge gas, 0.37 mm with white/stove gas and unleaded petrol, and 0.28 mm with kerosene or similar. Each mode has its own setup, priming and cleaning requirements; do not combine these as one simultaneous operating plan.
Explore this need in the finder →Does this kit include a separate windscreen and does that mean it can cover the fuel?
The exact P328990 page lists a foldable windscreen and heat reflector; the manual prohibits covering the stove or gas cartridge/fuel bottle because of overheating risk. Use only the supplied pieces in the exact instructions, never as an improvised enclosure.
Explore this need in the finder →What does the 375 g and boil-time information show?
The page lists 375 g without defining bare/minimum/package scope and advertises a fast one-liter boil. Its power/consumption claims differ from the exact manual's 2.3 kW/180 g per hour. None is an independent test or proof of a complete fueled carrying load.
Explore this need in the finder →Scope note: This is a source-based assessment of Primus OmniFuel kit P328990 / UPC 7330033902785. I have not field-tested, ignited, weighed or used this model. It is the kit with fuel bottle and accessory pack, not evidence that fuel itself is included.
One burner with several distinct fuel arrangements
The OmniFuel is a single burner supplied with an ErgoPump and bottle, cleaning-needle multi-tool, multiple jet nipples, foldable windscreen, heat reflector and pouch. Primus describes it as a multi-fuel appliance with adjustable flame control. The practical distinction is not merely that several fuels are “compatible”: the exact instructions require different jets, priming procedures and care for different fuel types. Treat each mode as a separate configuration. A gas cartridge does not use the liquid-fuel bottle, and a bottle/pump plan is not interchangeable with cartridge mode.
In the Primus manual ID 3289, the cartridge-gas jet is 0.45 mm; white or stove gas (including the named Primus/MSR/Coleman products) and unleaded petrol use a 0.37 mm jet; kerosene and similar fuels use 0.28 mm. Primus' US product page also mentions diesel and aviation fuel, but the manual evidence reviewed here does not give those fuels the same clear jet-and-instruction support. I do not include them as confirmed matching modes until the exact manual or Primus clarifies their use. Do not swap the jet values, operate with a guessed nozzle or assume the broad marketing list is equivalent to a model-specific instruction.
Interpret the specifications as claims, not an endurance test
The product page states 3,000 W and 215 g per hour and promotes a liter boil in just over three minutes. The manual says approximately 2.3 kW and 180 g/h at one bar and specifies that its European approval applies to gas operation. These differences are not resolved by averaging the numbers. They could describe different ratings or regional test contexts, but the evidence reviewed does not explain them. The page's 375 g weight is also not labelled as the bare burner, minimum mass or full kit weight. Fuel, cookware and food are not included, and our assessment includes no scale measurement or boil trial.
The exact US page is valuable for what comes with P328990: it names the bottle and pump, tool, windscreen, heat reflector and pouch, and says gas is not included. Check the precise article number rather than assuming a similar OmniFuel offer contains the same kit parts. The 1–4-person copy is Primus' intended-use claim; one burner remains one burner, and a wide flame is not a promise that every oversized pan will fit or remain stable. Primus gives no maximum cookware diameter in the reviewed record.
The foldable screen does not authorize covering the fuel
The exact kit page includes a foldable windscreen and reflector, and the manual troubleshooting section points users to Primus' windscreen/reflector or a sheltered location. The manual also strongly warns against covering the stove or cartridge/liquid-fuel bottle with a screen or similar because overheating can cause damage. Read those directions together: use only the kit's intended components, in the illustrated arrangement, with the fuel container kept out of the burner heat. This is not permission to wrap the bottle, build an enclosure or use a generic screen around the appliance.
OmniFuel has unusually large required clearances in the manual: at least 1,250 mm from the stove to the ceiling and nearest wall. It is for outdoor use only. The manual calls for stable placement, an extended hose kept away from flame/hot exhaust, attention to seals and outdoor leak checks without a naked flame. Liquid modes require correct priming; do not relight a hot stove because vaporizing residual fuel can create a dangerous flare. It also advises keeping the bottle away from stove heat and cleaning the jet as needed. These operating requirements make this a poor “one simple valve for any fuel” choice for someone who will not learn the exact mode procedure.
Who should compare the OmniFuel kit
Consider it if your trip genuinely calls for the documented cartridge, white-gas/petrol and kerosene arrangements and you accept the pump, jet selection and maintenance burden. A person who only uses a familiar canister may prefer a simpler one-mode stove. A shopper who needs a verified minimum weight or a known pot-diameter cap should not treat the page's 375 g or wide-flame description as that evidence. Before purchasing, confirm P328990 and all supplied pieces, then read the complete current ID 3289 manual for the fuel you intend to carry. This assessment does not report price, availability, personal use or measured results.
