A useful fit for

A relatively straightforward one-burner Standard canister stove for a buyer who wants a standalone head with a valve-controlled flame and will choose the exact Primus cartridge named by the 3511 manual; it does not include a pot or fuel.

The main tradeoff

The manual's cartridge family and no-windscreen rule matter more than a generic 'canister stove' label. Primus's page and exact manual conflict on output and fuel-rate figures, 112/114 g is not a strict minimum, and no cookware ceiling is documented.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Will the Standard P351110 use the MSR 80/20 or Jetboil JetPower cartridge requirement?

The exact 3511 manual names Primus cartridge codes 2202, 2206 and 2207 and warns against trying other types. It does not document either exact questionnaire fuel option or EN 417 compatibility, so those blends are not treated as interchangeable.

Does its flame control prove a separate windscreen is safe?

No. The manual expressly says never to cover the stove or cartridge with a wind shield, rocks or similar. Primus describes wind-blocking pot supports, but those are not permission to add a separate screen.

Can I treat 112 g as the minimum carried stove weight?

No. The product specification table lists 112 g while the page's description says 114 g. Neither source labels its figure as minimum weight; there is also no fuel, cookware or package weight included in that bare stove description, so the strict numeric field remains unknown.

The Essential Trail Stove assessed here is the US Standard configuration P351110 / UPC 7330033909906. It is the standalone stove head, not the Essential Trail Kit P351150 and not the separately named Duo version P351140. That model boundary is more than bookkeeping: the product page says the Duo accepts both threaded and non-threaded canister valves, but that claim should not be carried over to the Standard SKU. The Standard model is intended to mount on a gas cartridge, which Primus sells separately.

A one-burner layout with support arms that block some wind

Primus describes a low-profile, top-mounted burner with a valve for adjusting flame output and pot supports intended to block wind around the flame. The manufacturer lists a 108 mm width, 90 mm depth and 60 mm height, and its table gives 112 g. The same product-page prose calls it a 114 g burner, so even the page's weight statements are not perfectly aligned. Neither value is labelled as the manufacturer's minimum weight. It is a bare burner, without fuel or a matched pot, and the evidence does not turn 112 or 114 g into the weight of a complete cook system.

For cooking, Primus describes one burner that can boil a litre of water and whose control valve can adjust the flame. The page claims 2,500 W and 180 g of fuel per hour, with a 3.5-minute one-litre boil. Those are manufacturer claims, not a timed trial. More importantly, the exact 3511 manual reports 1.88 kW and 135 g/h. Because the manual and page disagree on output and consumption, I would not use either set of numbers to compare precise speed or fuel economy with another stove. The evidence supports a boiling role and adjustable control; it does not establish low-flame stability for a particular recipe or cookware load.

Use the exact fuel instructions, not a category label

The exact 3511 manual names Primus cartridge codes 2202, 2206 and 2207 and warns that other cartridge types may be hazardous. It does not name the survey's exact MSR 80/20 blend or Jetboil JetPower, and it does not establish an EN 417 connection. The Standard P351110 therefore does not pass either exact fuel choice in the finder. Primus's separate Duo model has a different adapter/valve capability and remains a separate configuration. Fuel is not included in this standalone offer, so confirm the cartridge code and complete manual that apply to the particular item before packing it.

There is also a source-page problem worth knowing about. Primus's US manuals index lists “Essential Trail Stove,” but the visible link currently resolves to a Lite Stove System document. That file does not establish instructions for P351110. The exact 3511 Essential Trail Stove manual used here is linked from Primus's international page for P351110, which identifies the stove model and its 3511 instructions. This mismatch is not a reason to ignore the manual: it is a reason to verify the exact current documentation with the offer instead of trusting an index link by its label alone.

Wind protection is not a separate windscreen

The support arms are described as wind-blocking, but the manual warns never to cover the stove or cartridge with a wind shield, rocks or similar objects. Reflected heat can dangerously overheat the cartridge. If your site requires a permitted separate screen, this is the wrong documented arrangement. The manual also requires outdoor operation, a firm level surface, keeping the stove upright and stationary once lit, and 500 mm of clearance from combustible material at the sides and above. Its general instruction to place a stove out of the wind when possible is not permission to place a shield around the cartridge.

Primus says the supports can hold a variety of pots, but neither the product page nor the exact burner manual establishes a maximum cookware diameter. The support geometry is useful context, not a number. The exact cookware ceiling and a minimum-weight figure remain unconfirmed in the authored facts, so a strict cookware-size or carry-cap request will exclude this stove rather than letting the matcher guess from its 108 mm body width.

Where it sits beside the kit and Classic Trail

Compared with the Essential Trail Kit, this P351110 offer leaves cookware to the buyer. That can be an advantage if your pot already fits your routine, but the kit has a supplied 1.0 L pot, pan/lid and storage bag. The two products should not be merged: they are separate retail packages, have different quoted weights and use different package contents. The Classic Trail P224383 is another single-burner alternative with fixed four-point supports and a broad-flame claim, but its exact retail-manual bridge and fuel instructions are not confirmed in the US source set. The Essential Trail manual is unusually useful for exact fuel and safety limits, although its output figures conflict with the page.

Who should consider P351110?

This Standard model is worth considering when a standalone, one-burner canister head and valve adjustment suit your cooking, and when you can source one of the cartridge codes the exact manual names. It is not a complete kitchen: cookware and fuel are separate, there is no confirmed maximum pot diameter, and the manual prohibits a separate wind shield. If you need a different connector, dependable numeric weight boundary, or tested simmer performance, the current evidence is not enough. Treat this as a source-based assessment of the exact model, not personal use; no ownership, weighing, boil test or field cooking is claimed.
